The Task at Hand

Our mission is simple: to spread the kingdom of Jesus Christ to every inch of the world that we find ourselves in. This breaks down in two large categories: evangelism and social action.

It is an unfortunate thing that ministries and ministers argue today about which one of these two is more important than the other, some going so far as to reject one in favor of the other. Since our goal is to spread Christ's kingdom abroad, we must find ourselves committed to this dual fidelity. We will not choose one over the other, but will rather embrace both wholeheartedly to the end that Jesus' name and fame are spread more effectively, powerfully and biblically.

The root of all the issues in life is man's faulty relationship with his Creator. Sin leads to death and we therefore live in a dead and dying world. Thus we preach Christ and him crucified since "...while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son..." (Rom 5.10).

But preaching Christ in an evangelistic way does not fill up the entirety of the Christian's calling nor is it an end in itself. Though the cross deals with the heart of the matter, sin and man's subsequent standing before a holy God, it has ramifications in the here and now, in our every day lives that are readily seen and visible by the world around us. Thus we are committed to social action, mercy and justice. Jesus' half-brother James writes, "Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction..." (James 1.27).

To meet the needs of those who are the most afflicted in our world is a natural overflow of a person who has experienced the grace of God in their own lives. Since we have received such great mercy, we cannot help but share this with those around us in a very tangible, physical way.
