Living Out the Gospel Together
Gospel Communities are a priority for us because they—being comprised of multiple persons—display the gospel in a way that we as individuals simply can‘t, namely by showcasing the trinitarian nature of God. Without community existing in the church our gospel light is significantly dimmed.
So, Gospel Communities serve our people by promoting Christ-centered fellowship, collaborative growth in grace, and the usage of the spiritual gifts. They serve our community by being the point at which our church extends into the city. Every Gospel Community is located in a different part of town, each of which is full of people who are hurting and in need. The GC then is at a great advantage to serve that portion of our city in a very specialized manner, a way in which our church simply can't do otherwise.
Ultimately, our goal is to truly see our Gospel Communities as "church." As much as we love our corporate and congregated time together, if our people aren't living out the gospel together in every day life then we aren't truly a church but rather just special interests club of some sort.
